Our group will explore professional teaching literature and socialize with our families . Each month we will have two meetings. One will be a kid free zone so we can discuss the group chosen literature . The second meeting of the month will allow us to combine families and have some fun at an agreed upon location.
The Midtown Booze & Book Club is the book club "for the rest of us". We aim to be a diverse group of readers who gather together for libations and lively discussion. We want to read books which are clever and sometimes funny. Everything from Bukowski to Burroughs (William AND Augusten), from Roach to Reichl, from Nin to well, Miller. Exploring new and old, off the beaten path books, not always your "award winning" reads. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month (and sometimes more, if we feel …

Let's keep this book club going! We have a great group of girls who have a great taste in books and love to chat. Most of us seem to work or live in West Sac, Natomas or Davis but ALL are welcome of course. We are still wor …
The Joseph Campbell Foundation's (JCF) Mythological RoundTable® (MRT) groups are gatherings of people drawn together by a deep and abiding interest in all things mythological. Much like the Round Table of yore, it is a place where individual and community come together -- a place to play, plan, create, partake in ritual, and share tales of one's own quest with companions well met. But the Mythological RoundTable® groups do more than just enrich the individual; they also offer the opportunity to …
Meet kindred book lovers in a local Meetup Book Club! Fiction or non-fiction, paperback or hardcover, you'll read a new book (or two!) every month. Come to laugh, share stories and make new friends!
The purpose of this group is to allow people who like to write to share their work and get inspiration. Fiction/ non-fiction. Prose, poetry. Prolific/ published/ non-published/ stuck in writer's block...Anything goes. You are welcome so long as you enjoy writing as a form of self-expression. Bring a sample of your own work (or idea if you are really stuck) to share and be prepared to listen to others read what they have written. The idea is that we can help one another through constructive criti …
Midtown dwellers that enjoy a good book, talking about it, and, some libations during the process, this is it. If you live in, near or around the Midtown, come hither...
I want to start a book club group for woman who love to read a wide range of books. Each month we will read a book selected by one of our members. The selection process will go as follows: Each member will have a chance to be the "Leader" of a monthly meeting, which means they will choose 3 books for the group to vote on and then lead the meeting for their chosen book. This way we all get a chance to read something we are interested in while still allowing the group to be involved. We we will be …
Calling all writers of African descent--Ours is a uniquely American experience that we chronicle in many ways. Through literature we express the hope, the fear, the joy and the triumph of that experience. I am seeking my fellow chroniclers of that journey. Whether you write fiction, non-fiction, novels or poetry, let's (as Toni Morrison says in Beloved) "Lay it all down." Whether you have published, dream of being published, in the throes of your first novel or collection of poetry or short stor …

We will be exploring a variety of books from the classics like Jane Austin to more modern books. Mostly the classics though. We will meet once a month to discuss the books we have just finished. The goal of this book club is to not only read great books but to make a connection and develop lasting friendships.
There are no upcoming Meetups.
