We are a group of women who live in Pasadena/South Pasadena, love to read good literature (modern and classics) and enjoy making new friends. We meet each month at a different member's home for an evening of appetizers, socializing and book discussion.

I was founder and President of The Nubian Queens Book Club for 10 years in Riverside. I am an avid reader of African American literature and would love like females to join the book club. A book discussion group for members and friends of the LGBT community. Although the focus here is on reading and discussing books of specific interest to the community, we will read books from other genres, as well. We'll meet on the first Friday of every month to discuss our current selection and select a book for the following month. The books will be posted and give at least 3 weeks advance notice to be prepared to read the material and bring forth our interpretations. We will meet at Farnsworth Park with weather permitting, or may have another meeting place in or near Altadena but that will be provided in advance. It will be nice to experience our readings and reflections while in the nice scenery of the park or other pleasant locations in the area.
